A limited-edition Prospex diver, just landed at Watch Direct — celebrating 60 years of PADI.
Seiko Prospex is marking a milestone: 60 years of PADI, and a decade of the two working together for the ocean. The new Prospex PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002K — a limited edition of just 8,000 pieces — has landed at Watch Direct, and it's one of the most collectible divers in the current Seiko collection. Here's a first look.

Sixty Years of PADI, a Decade with Seiko
PADI — the Professional Association of Diving Instructors — turns 60 this year, and Seiko has spent the last ten of those years as its partner, pairing the world's largest diver-training organisation with the brand that has defined the accessible dive watch since 1965. The HBB002K is the anniversary piece that marks both.
The result leans into the occasion rather than shouting about it. The dial carries a subtle globe motif — a nod to PADI's worldwide network and to the oceans the partnership works to protect — with red accents on the seconds hand and the "Diver's 200m" text picking out the anniversary colours. It's recognisably a PADI Seiko, but a more considered one than most.
"A globe on the dial, PADI colours in the details, and 8,000 numbers on the casebacks — this is an anniversary diver you'll actually want to dive."

The Prospex PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002K runs Seiko's automatic caliber 4R36 — self-winding with hand-winding, a 41-hour power reserve, and a day-and-date display. The 45mm stainless steel case is rated to 200m with a screw-down crown, a one-way blue ceramic rotating bezel, and a sapphire crystal with a date magnifier and anti-reflective coating on the inside. Lumibrite coats the hands and markers for legibility at depth. It ships on a stainless steel bracelet with a diver's-extension clasp, plus an additional high-strength silicone strap printed with "Professional Association of Diving Instructors" — comfortable over a wetsuit or straight on the wrist. As a run of 8,000 individually numbered pieces, it's the kind of Seiko that doesn't come back once it's gone.
